A First Ever NYC Showcase of Giallo Movies
September 20th - September 30th
New York
Here at Haddonfield Horror we love a good genre movie. A slasher film, a zombie film, we also love a good Giallo film. For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the term "Giallo" it describes a genre that combines, murder, mystery, crime and of course, horror. Dario Argento is a master of the genre with classic giallo films such as The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, Four Flies on Grey Velvet and Trauma.
Later this month in the wonderful city of New York, a small but dedicated team are hoping to show a number of these classic Giallo films on the big screens. This is a must for all fans of genre cinema.
The films on show are as follows:
The Bird with the Crystal Plumage - Dario Argento
The Girl Who Knew Too Much - Mario Bava
The House of Laughing Windows - Pupi Avati
A Quiet Place in the Country - Elio Petri
One on Top of the Other (Perversion Story) - Lucio Fulci
The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh (Next Victim) - Sergio Martino
Deep Red - Dario Argento
What have you Done to Solange? - Massimo Dallamano
Blood and Black Lace - Mario Bravo
Don't Tortue a Duckling - Lucio Fulci

London Film Festival
Wednesday 10th October - Sunday 21st October
London film festival kicks off next month and it has announced a fantastic line up that includes a number of great looking horror films. London Film festival, run by the BFI, will start on Wednesday 10th October with the Tim Burton's Frankenweenie 3D.
Horror films playing at the festival include Sightseer's directed by Ben (Kill List) Weatley and Antiviral which is the debut film from Brandon Cronenberg, son of David. Below we have listed six horror films playing this year that we think you should take a look at if attending the festival.
SIGHTSEER'S - Ben Wheatley's follow up to Kill List follows Tina and Chris, a couple on a caravanning holiday that develop a new hobby, murder. Think Britain's answer to Bonnie & Clyde.
ANTIVIRAL - Brandon Cronenberg will no doubt be compared to his farther, director of The Fly, David Cronenberg. In a disturbing future where celebrity obsession by the general public has reached disturbing new heights. Syd works at a special clinic, if a celebrity catches a virus, the public can go to Syd and receive the same virus to make them just like their idol.
BLACK ROCK - Attempting to sort out some problems between her childhood friends, Sarah takes them on a camping trip on a remote island where they all grew up. When they arrive, Sarah hopes the memories of their childhood will help iron out the problems but when three ex-soliders turn up the girls find themselves bonding together to survive.
GIRLS AGAINST BOYS - Shae is having an affair with a married man but when this comes crashign down, she goes out to get drunk with her friend Lu. The girls end up at a party which is full of boys and Shae is sexually assaulted, this leads the girls to go on a rampage against all men.
MY AMITYVILLE HORROR - This documentary, directed by Eric Walter, focuses on Daniel Lutz who was only 10 years old when his parents when public on the alleged haunting that took place at 112 Ocean Drive, the famous haunting case that spawned a series of horror films.
ROOM 237 - Another documentary this time focusing on Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece The Shining. Room 237 explores the myth's behind this chilling ghost film and deals with the idea that Kubrick wasn't just trying to make a scary movie, he was trying to tell us something else.
